Apple? Are you there?

I waited a day to type this.

I'm glad to see the iPhone is reasonably priced now... but what about the nano?

Really. But I'm sorry to tell Steven Riggins that a 33% price drop in one month is, in fact, a cheap shot towards early adopters. I'm glad Apple is doing the right thing and offering a credit. And, if I were an early adopter, I'd be ok with that. Given they're chopping off the small model, given some economies of scale the the fact that it's a proven success, Apple can afford to drop the price by $100. That's what the credit was for. The other hundred dollars? That's your early adopter fee. It happens with video cards, processors, cars, whatever - if it's shiny and new, it's gonna cost you.

1A) The only reason I didn't go out and buy an iPhone now is because I plan on redoing the second floor of my house... not exactly a cheap proposition.

2) Why should I buy an iPod Touch, exactly? I work in NYC and spend an afternoon walking between Penn Station and my office on W. 25th St, and the several blocks around my office looking for an open WiFi station. Not exactly common. Tons of weak signals, all of them locked. It's nice, but I might as well spring for the iPhone, and have actual internet access.

3) What happened to the nano?

It's like a fat kid in McDonalds. I remember back in 10th grade geometry class talking about proportions, and that little side note about the 'golden proportion' - a fixed rectangular proportion that is often found attractive. Not so thin it appears fragile, but not so thick it appears heavy.

4) What happened to the nice colors on the shuffle?
