Planning Futility.
Finally got my freelance work cleared off my plate after a killer week at work. Now the fun begins.
I'm going to start on my first book cover soon. I'm throwing out most of my restrictions though. I still won't be creating finished masterpieces, but I'm not going to force myself into a 2 hour limit. I'm still holding myself to a shorter time frame, but I want to be realistic in how long it takes to do one.
My current list includes: * Cryptonomicon (Neal Stephenson) * Stardust (Neil Gaiman) * Stranger in a Strange Land (Robert A. Heinlein) * Pattern Recognition (or Pattern Recognition or Idoru, not sure) (William Gibson) * Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep (Philip K. Dick)
I did finally get to read the last Harry Potter book - but I don't plan on attempting a cover. It was a good book and I honestly love the cover illustrations. To redo them would insult them.
Otherwise, I'm also going to redo my current site as Flash 9 / Actionscript 3. No, I don't plan on redesigning it. I'm happy with it now (finally), but I need a project to learn AS3, and redoing my current site would remove alot of the guesswork and frustration that can come with a design project.
Last, I'm going to update the blog design. I had originally picked up MT as an experiment to see what I could do with it for a work-related project. Seeing that I've more or less kept this blog up to date, I figure I should get around to updating the design.
